The Youth Centers of Orange is partnering with Palmyra GATE Magnet Elementary school to help with their annual cultural event, “Taste of Palmyra,” and it is quickly approaching! This year’s celebration will take place on Friday, May 15th.
As some of you may know, this is a special time for the community to come together and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes Palmyra so unique. The event will feature food booths, cultural activities, raffles, and delicious drinks—there’s truly something for everyone!
To make this event a success, we need volunteers to help in the following areas:

- Share basic cultural facts (notes will be provided)
- Hand out materials and guide younger students through activities

- Assist younger students with crafts, food samples, or games
- Help them follow directions and stay safe
- Walk groups to different stations when needed
Food & Serving Team
- Pass out pre-portioned food samples (with adult supervision)
- Remind students about proper hand hygiene
- Keep serving areas neat and organized
Clean-Up Crew
- Pick up trash and recyclables around the event area
- Wipe down tables and activity stations
- Help reset areas between groups
Safety & Support Team
- Monitor bathroom areas and report any issues to adults
- Help guide students to the correct locations
- Inform teachers if someone needs help or feels unwell
Welcome & Directions Team
