Volunteer: Calling Creative Hearts & Helping Hands! Volunteer to Teach Kids to SewDo you love sewing, crafting, or designing? Do you enjoy sharing your creativity with others? We’re looking for warm, enthusiastic volunteers to help teach kids and teens the art of sewing at the HUB OC Community Center! This program is designed to give young kids, living in a low income housing unit, a chance to learn valuable creative skills in a fun, supportive environment. Through sewing, they’ll not only learn how to make things with their hands, but also build confidence, patience, and pride in their creations. We would love volunteers who can: Teach basic sewing skills to beginnersIntroduce kids to simple design concepts and creative expressionHelp students imagine and create their own projectsEncourage and support young makers of all agesNo formal teaching experience is required—just a love of sewing, creativity, and working with kids! Whether you’re a seasoned seamstress, a fashion enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys crafting, your time and talents can make a meaningful difference. Classes will be held at the HUB OC Community Center, where we’ll create a welcoming space for kids to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and discover the joy of making something with their own hands. The HUB OC Community Center is seeking volunteer exercise instructors to lead fun, inclusive classes for adults and children living in an underprivileged apartment complex. These families face daily challenges, and access to wellness, movement, and positive connection can be life-changing. By volunteering just a bit of your time, you can: Bring joy, confidence, and stress relief to both kids and adults Help children build healthy habits and self-esteem Create a safe, welcoming space for families to move, laugh, and feel supported Be a bright, positive presence in a community that truly appreciates it All styles, experience levels, and class formats are welcome—Pilates, Zumba, Yoga, strength, stretch, dance, or something uniquely yours. If you have the heart to teach, we have a community ready to receive it. Your time, energy, and kindness can make a lasting impact.
